  • 911 Dispatcher

    The objective of this position is to obtain information accurately and properly process the request to appropriate individuals.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Applicants MUST successfully complete the training requirements offered and requested by Jefferson County 911 and EMB Program (or equivalent) as soon as the trainings are offered.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, answering incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, categorizing emergency service requests, prioritizing calls, dispatching the appropriate emergency service units, and monitoring and updating the status, providing additional support as requested.

  • DA Legal Secretary

    The objective of this position is to assist the department with the secretarial/paralegal needs, including specialized litigation, legal motions and appeal matters, and legal processes, and to assist the district attorneys in court with procedures and related legal secretarial/paralegal duties.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or equivalent, plus some secretarial, legal and/or paralegal, and computer training. 6-12 months working experience in legal or District Attorney’s office also required.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining and updating the District Attorney’s appointments in Google calendar, assisting the DA at the Judge’s pre-trial conferences once a month, preparing and distributing any necessary paperwork for court, processing criminal notices, maintaining the flow of criminal cases, and handling extradition matters.

  • Field Assessor

    The objective of this position is to assist in the evaluation of all real estate/property, transfer ownership in accordance with applicable state and county regulations, and plot deed descriptions to maps and computers.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Within 3 years of their hire, applicants MUST obtain (and maintain) a Certified Pennsylvania Evaluator license and fulfill mandatory education courses required as approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with tax questions, assessing properties, surveying the entire county for changes, computing the value of real property, and transferring deed transactions.

  • Payroll Coordinator

    The objective of this position is to process payroll, maintain withholdings and associated disbursements, and assist the Finance Department with Accounts Payable and purchase orders. The objective of this position is also to assist with the required reporting to the state and federal government.

    Applicants MUST have their High School Diploma or an equivalent. Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Business PREFERRED. Applicants MUST have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in payroll, accounts payable, accounting, or bookkeeping.

    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing county payroll on a bi-weekly basis, maintaining all records pertaining to payroll, preparing/processing/reconciling all disbursement invoices as related to the payroll process, preparing reports, entering invoices, and coordinating purchasing functions for the county.
